Every month, we’ll give you a rundown of the dishes/snacks/drinks the Bitten team have enjoyed and where you can find them to experience for yourselves. We’d love to hear in the comments what the best things you’ve bitten into recently have been..?
In this round-up, we’ve got three savory options and three sweet treats to wet your appetite 🤤
Chiara – Bia
Chiara visited Bia, a neighborhood restaurant based on South Parade in Summertown specialising in small places and perfectly paired drinks. Chiara’s highlight were these Corn fritters – smoky and crunchy and perfect when washed down with their margarita (you can decide how spicy! 🌶️)
James – La Cookaracha
It might not look that appetising but don’t be fooled by the messy picture, James is the Bitten meat connoisseur, so we 100% trust his vouch for these beef tacos from La Cookaracha in Gloucester Green food market!
“These are amazing! I love them with the hot salsa. They have a variety of Mexican on offer including burritos and quesadillas. Be sure to check them out next time you are there. They also have a pop-up at the Anchor in Jericho some Sundays!”
Jacqui – Thames Lido
The Bitten Oxford crew have A LOT of love for Thames Lido! Three of the Bitten crew have visited lately and we can’t get enough of their delicious grub and the holiday vibes that come with a Lido dip.
Jacquid ordered the Winter Salad which consists of a mix of chicories, fennel, blood orange & mint. Light and fresh and according to Jacqui pairs very well with a side of Burrata! It’s all about balance right?
Nicola – Brasserie Blanc
Nicola enjoyed this rather spectacular-looking Black Cherry and dark chocolate mousse from Brasserie Blanc!
“The mousse texture was perfect and all the nuts and added bits on top layered the texture perfectly. I am always on the look out for a good chocolate mousse- this satisfied the craving”
Holly – Alfonso
Sunnier days are on the way and what could be a better way to celebrate that having your first ice cream of the season at Alfonoso. I love the fact that Alfonso allow you to choose two flavours for their one scoop price! I went for the Mint Straciatella which is made with real mint leaves, which gives it a slightly different texture (slightly disappointingly this one had smaller bits of chocolate than usual) however the special of mascarpone and cherry more than made up with it, so creamy and delicious.
Liz – Jericho Cafe
Liz was looking for a sweet pick-me-up after months of rain and she found exactly what she was looking for with this Kinder brownie at Jericho Cafe!
