What’s on this Winter; The Scenic Supper returns to the Cotswolds

29th November 2021 by Katy Kelly Leave a Comment AD - Invite, Blog, NewsEVENTS/ INDEPENDENTS/ Oxford/ restaurant/ REVIEW

scenic supper

If you missed out on The Scenic Supper when they launched over the many lockdowns of 2020, you’ll be happy to know you can make up for lost time with the latest addition to their increasing portfolio of fine dining experiences with views.

A new location; The Stone Barn, Fir Farm

Scenic Supper is back in the Cotswolds and going all out this winter at their new location at The Stone Barn, Fir Farm, near Stow-on-the-Wold, Gloucestershire.

A cosy, converted barn is the setting for a 4-6 course fine dining experience with views. Provided by the barn’s floor-to-ceiling windows framing a quintessential Cotswold scene of the farm and fields beyond.

‘Paddock to plate’

If you’re looking to make up for lost time on last year’s festive experiences, this unique ‘paddock to plate’ set menu, including festive flavours will be just the ticket.

Head chef, Samuel Idoine, has created dishes using Fir Farm’s home-reared, grass-fed beef and lamb, poultry, and game. Bitten sampled some of the dishes that will be on offer, including a seasonal-appropriate celeriac soup with walnut and apple. The beef brisket, served with bone marrow in a Yorkshire pudding, had depth and richness. We also loved the homemade bread served on a bed of coarse salt – to die for.

The cocktails are also creative and festive, including a pumpkin spice twist on a French 75 and Kombucha shrub-style mocktails.

The Scenic Supper

Running until Saturday 18th Dec.

Tables of 2 upwards for lunch, and tables of 4 upwards for Dinner – Wednesday to Saturday.

Bookings are open for the pre-set, four-course lunch menu (£55pp) or the six-course dinner menu (£70pp).

The Barn will be open for lunch from 12.30 pm – 3 pm for tables of two upwards and for dinner tables of four upwards from 6.30 pm – 11.00 pm – Wednesdays – Saturdays.
