This month’s edition of Dessert Diaries with Nicola, I will be taking you through a very decadent dessert. Let me walk you through it…
G&D Cafes are one of Oxford’s favourite and clasic spots. Whether you are looking for a quick bagel bite or feel that a bit of ice cream might make your day better, G&D Cafes offer up a lot. After being previously defeated by this brownie sundae, I decided that I needed to give it another go.
Warm brownie, chocolate sauce, nuts, ice cream, and whipped cream
It’s as rich as it sounds. The G&D brownie is amazing. Gooey inside with a slightly crispy outside layer- it is even better once slightly heated. Drizzled with chocolate sauce, covered in toasted nuts, and topped off with whipped cream and ice cream, I underestimated how sweet this was going to be.

This is for the real sweet tooths and chocoholics
I have to admit that this dessert gave me the worst food coma (keeping it real here), but I think it just might have been worth it. From the warm gooey brownie to the toasted nuts on top, the combination of textures helped to elevate the dish. This is not for the faint-hearted, that is all I can say.
G&D Cafes are always a great go-to spot!
Fancy something a little lighter? I also love the G&D speculoos ice cream and their mango sorbet. Those flavours are my usual excuses for stopping by, and given that summer is around the corner, I think it is safe to say that it is well and truly ice cream season.
