Review: Grounded Kitchen

New Sticky Rice Menu

Having only ordered from Grounded Kitchen once before on Deliveroo, I was keen to dine in and test out their new sticky rice menu.

Located in Headington, Grounded Kitchen serves up Korean and Asian inspired food that is fresh and tasty. The latest addition to their creative menu is their ‘Sticky Rice’ options.

Unfortunately, when we got there, the restaurant was having an issue with the tills and therefore did not have much available – the only thing available was two out of the four sticky rice menu options, which were the chicken and the beef.

Straight into the sticky rice

We tried the chicken and beef sticky rice with the Edamame and Kimchi and went for the green and black Charitea for drinks.

I definitely preferred the chicken – it was really tasty and the balance of flavours worked – I will absolutely be popping back for this.

Sadly, the beef was very plain. It was lacking seasoning, and I did not really enjoy it. The kimchi was good – super fresh and prepared well.

The edamame was disappointing – it felt like they were overcooked/ had been sitting there for too long.

Overall, the chicken sticky rice was the favourite.

Overall thoughts

I think it might be safe to say that a lot of this experience was bad timing, the issues the restaurant was experiencing with the tills meant the staff had a lot going on, which was a shame as when I have previously ordered from Grounded Kitchen, it’s been very fresh and tasty.
