It comes around too quickly every year, and so many of us are stuck having not planned anything, or simply forgotten (oops..)
Well, if this is you, we’re here to help you style it out and make some good last min plans. Whether it’s for a partner, galentine’s, palentine’s – whatever type of love you’re looking to celebrate, doing it with some lovely food and drink is the only way we know how.
Here’s a round up of what some of the Bitten team will be doing this week
Jacqui – Pierre Victoire, Little Clarendon Street
Beautiful French food in a romantic, intimate, and candlelit setting. Plus, it’s really reasonably priced! Being on one of the best foodie streets of Ox doesn’t hurt either, you’re spoilt for choice for pre or post dinner drinks.
Jemma – The Chester Arms, Chester Street
I’ve reached the stage in my relationship where stuffing your face with steak is deemed acceptable for Valentine’s Day. A big plus is they serve it in the daytime too, which is perfect for us with a young baby.
Rob – The Greyhound, Letcombe
The Greyhound have a great Valentine’s set menu offer if you’re looking for something outside the city centre. Could even make a weekend of it and book one of their lovely rooms too!
Nicola – Sticks’n’Sushi, Westgate Centre
It’s the perfect date spot, with its dark ambience and lush decor. The crab croquettes are my absolute fave so definitely get them if they’re still on the menu!
Liz – Gatineau, Summertown
This lovely bakery is ideal for picking up a baked treat if you’re not going out for dinner (which I don’t usually do). Not just your average pastries here – gorgeously decorated with flavours to match. Coming home with a box from here is sure to go down well!
Faith – Popina by Lynrace, Walton Street
The ideal date night spot. It’s a great choice if you don’t want to go out for a full on meal but want to do something special. Popina has a very interesting winelist and you have the option of building your own charcuterie board to share, which is a cute joint activity. Cosy, intimate vibes and lovely knowledgable staff.
Chiara – Proof Social, Kennington
I’m heading to Proof on Friday to capture some behind the scenes content for Bitten, so would be rude not to pick up a few delicious pastries for my partner before I leave!
Sofia – Dosa Darlings, Cowley Road
Real date night vibes – lovely decor, delicious food and a great location on Cowley Road if you want to grab some drinks elsewhere before or after.
James – The Mason Arms, Headington
I’m not the biggest fan of Valentine’s but will probably head for a few pints at my local, The Mason Arms, and then pick up a nice cote de boeuf from Aldens Butchers to cook at home.
