Grounded Kitchen is the lasted addition to the Headington restaurant scene, bringing fresh Korean inspired nourish bowls, Bao buns, thirst quenching juices and other tasty treats.
I was lucky enough to be invited along to their preview, the day before their doors opened to the public.

It was a fab event, I even went into the kitchen to to make my very own nourish bowl.
I don’t think I’ll be getting a job there anytime soon, but it was great to witness the process and the fresh produce that goes into their nourish bowls. All the veg is prepared fresh each morning, with a selection of spinach, carrot, peppers, avocado and beetroot added to the base of rice. I had the choice of making a Bulgogi, Gochujang or Buldak Fire nourish bowl. Each being a different spice level, Buldak fire being the hottest. Depending on the bowl, there is a choice of protein including chicken, Angus beef, tofu, spicy mushroom and king prawns. Prices start form £10.95 to £12.95.
I went for the chicken Buldak Fire, the melted gouda cheese swung the choice!
This had a warming amount of heat to it, but not too hot to overpower the dish. Rich in flavour, paired with fresh vegetables, and the delicate sourness of the kimchi cutting through, rounded the bowl off nicely. The portion sizes are really good. There’s also the option to go large for an extra £3 if you’re extra hungry.

Drinks wise, I had the Vitamin C Elixir, which is one of their ‘Quenchers’. Made with strawberry, peach and papaya – a great way to cool down the heat from the dish. Quenchers are finished with fresh fruit, oats and coconut and are £5.95.
Grounded Kitchen is definitely going to be worth another visit. I am really keen on trying the Bao buns next time, and maybe the waffles for dessert.
