Looking for an Instagrammable brunch spot? Bardia’s is where you want to be!
Bardia’s Coffee started in 2017 by Shabnam and Cyrus due to their love for coffee. Their respective expertise in handcrafted interior and floral design is reflected in their venues in Stratford Upon Avon and Oxford. Their family-roasted Brazilian and Guatemalan blend of coffee delivers excellent notes of hazelnut & praline, topped off with a fresh zesty taste.

Now, over to my visit.
Whether you’re just passing by or going in, the beautiful flowers and natural wood interior design are unmissable. I made a booking in advance by calling, but they’re also very responsive on Instagram and open to walk-ins.
Let’s kick off with the drinks. I ordered the iced mocha and my friend had the Easter special drink – a Crème Egg frappe. The iced mocha was standard, but I wasn’t expecting anything out of the ordinary for such a classic choice. The Crème Egg frappe was recommended by the waitress and was absolutely delicious. It delivered the perfect balance of that unique crème egg flavour and the creamy refreshing experience of a classic frappe.

On to the real deal – the food.
We ordered the ‘streaky bacon galore’ and the ‘touch the rainbow’. My friend requested some changes to her ‘touch the rainbow’ which was no problem for the waitress. The food took a fair amount of time to arrive but once it did we could see how fresh everything was and this justified the wait. Also, we were far too busy taking pictures, so the time passed quickly!
The pancakes with the ‘streaky bacon galore’ were fluffy and came with a swirl of granola and nuts, with the all-important maple syrup too. My expectations were met and unlike many other places, they weren’t stingy with the maple syrup. A big win! One thing I would say is that the bacon could have been crispier.

The ‘touch the rainbow’ was drizzled in basil oil and provided a great balance of flavours and textures with the crunchy croutons and the creamy smashed avocado.
The service was pretty good, and our waitress was very patient throughout the ordering process to answer any queries, provide suggestions and manage our indecisiveness about what to order. The menu is quite vast so I recommend having a sneak peek at it before getting there if you’re as indecisive as I am.
The prices are reasonable for what you get and are more or less what you would expect for brunch in Oxford. The pancakes were £9 and the ‘touch the rainbow’ dish was £10. Drinks were priced between £3 and £5.

To sum up, I would definitely go back to Bardia’s Coffee Oxford.
It meets all your Instagrammable and aesthetic needs (which we all know is very important these days) and the variety of options on both the drink and food menu leaves you wanting to return and try something else. I like to give a rating after I visit somewhere out of 10, and I would give Bardia’s a 7/10.
