Bitten Bites: Supper Clubs at Silvie Oxford

6th September 2017 by Jacqui Thorndyke Leave a Comment Blog, NewsEVENTS/ INDEPENDENTS/ SUPPER CLUBS

If you haven’t already ventured down there, Silvie is a lovely bakery-cafe on Iffley Road, which has been building a strong follower base due to its home-from-home feel, great food, and freshly baked treats. Over the course of the next few weeks, Silvie is hosting a series of great sounding supper clubs, including co-hosted events with Riverford Organic Farmers and The Young Women’s Music Project (YWMP).

Riverford Organic Farmers Supper Clubs

This Thursday and Friday, Chloe Horner (one of the original Oxfork owners) teams up with Riverford Oxford to offer a five-course vegetarian banquet in the style of their Riverford Field Kitchen.

The events will be “showing off the best of the season’s plant-based harvest through some favourite Riverford recipes and featuring inspiration for gluts and showcasing some more unusual ingredients.”

Judging by the pictures Chloe’s been posting on Instagram with her Riverford deliveries, they’re bound to be tasty affairs.

Young Women’s Music Project Supper Club

Young Women’s Music Project Supper Club

The Young Women’s Music Project (YWMP) is an educational charity based in Oxford that runs free music sessions for women aged 14-21, which provide an inclusive and supportive space for young women to make music together, learn new skills, express themselves, and grow in confidence.

The charity is hoping to use this, their first event at Silvie, to raise much-needed funds for the continuation of the project.

Enjoy a cocktail, followed by a delicious three-course meal, and a special performance by YWMP. Alcoholic & soft drinks will be available. Reservation is required, book your limited availability tickets here.
