Silverstone Escapade is a restaurant and bar with a panoramic view of the Silverstone track. It is open to the public, but from the moment you enter the grounds, it feels like a VIP experience. You wind your way around the track to the restaurant, which also sits alongside some very striking hotel rooms. As soon as you step into the reception area, you are met with the most exquisite scent, a fragrance created specifically for Silverstone featuring black tea, bergamot, and citrus.
The building itself is modern and edgy. A huge diagonal window overlooks the track, and the restaurant is a large open space with private booths, small trackside tables, and much bigger tables that were full of large groups celebrating when we visited. There is art on the walls, stylish lighting, and it’s giving slight James Bond vibes.

We visited for Sunday lunch and started with the Shellfish Bisque (£9.50) and the Smoked Cod Roe Mousse (£8). Both were delicious.
The bisque was poured at the table around a centre of cream cheese. It was rich in flavour, but still light on the stomach. The freshness and creaminess of the cheese balanced the deep shellfish flavours perfectly. The smoked cod roe was a generous portion served with crackers. The mousse was rich on its own, but the dill pickled cucumber added crunch and brightness which cut through the heaviness nicely.

For mains we ordered the Roast Beef (£24) and the Roast Pork (£18). The roasts were served with a bowl of seasonal vegetables, including green beans, sugar snap peas, and broccoli, plus perfectly crispy roast potatoes, a Yorkshire pudding, and gravy.
The beef is served on the rare side and presented in a large hunk, almost like a steak. It was incredibly tender with a lovely depth of flavour.
The pork was moist and full of flavour, although the seasoning on top tasted slightly artificial to me. I would have loved to see some crackling and perhaps apple on the side. The vegetables were fresh and well cooked but could have used a little more seasoning. The cauliflower cheese (£5) was creamy and indulgent.

After the main courses, the service slowed down, likely due to a staff changeover. It took a long time for the plates to be cleared, and we were not offered dessert. We asked whether the kitchen was still open, as we hadn’t been offered dessert menus, but were given them upon request.
We chose the Apple Crumble (£8) and Sticky Toffee Pudding (£9), both served with vanilla ice cream. These took a while to arrive, but they were worth waiting for, especially the sticky toffee pudding.
It was small in size but absolutely outstanding. A butterscotch tuile on top added texture and crunch, and the balance of sauce to sponge was perfect.
It was one of the best sticky toffee puddings I have eaten.
We enjoyed a mellow glass of merlot, and the drinks list included some interesting cocktails, mocktails, and a decent wine list.
The food is very good and not overpriced, but the real reason to visit Silverstone Escapade is the overall experience. It feels like a hidden secret, a memorable place to visit, whether you are a motorsport fan or not.

I would love to return for an overnight stay and to try the spa. It is quite the find.
