It was my first visit to Cosy Club, I have only ever heard positive things, so I was pleased to finally give it a go and see what the fuss was about.
As soon as we walked in, the vibe felt familiar. It reminded me a lot of Como Lounge in Witney and after a quick Google, it became clear why. Both brands sit under the same ownership, which explains the recognisable look and feel.
That said, Cosy Club definitely feels like the more elevated sibling, particularly when it comes to quality and service.
The Oxford site is a huge space, complete with a large central bar, lounge style sofa seating and a dedicated dining area. Despite its size, it is cleverly zoned and still manages to feel intimate, with a great atmosphere and no sense of tables being crammed in on top of each other.
We were visiting to try their newly launched roast, with Oxford being the first Cosy Club in the country to roll it out. If successful, it will be launched nationwide.

Before the main event, we started with a couple of small plates. The halloumi with hot honey, mizuna and pickled onion salad (£8.50). Lightly fried, delicately crisp and perfectly balanced with subtle sweetness. The crispy cauliflower tossed in sweet chilli glaze with satay mayonnaise was also excellent (£7.50).
It was both gluten free and vegan, and came topped with some mysterious crispy leaves that were genuinely incredible. I could not quite work out what they were, so if anyone can identify them better than Google Lens, let me know.
One thing that really stood out was how knowledgeable the team were about the menu. When we asked our waitress for recommendations, it was clear she had actually eaten the food herself. The team were also excellent with allergies and dietary requirements. My dining companions had some fairly niche needs and the staff were flexible, accommodating and reassuring, all without making any fuss.
For mains, we chose the slow roasted York House pork belly at £26 and the roasted cauliflower steak with herb pangrattato at £18.50.

Both came with a generous tray of accompaniments and unlimited Yorkshire puddings, regardless of which roast you choose. Yes, unlimited Yorkshires. There was also a fantastic selection of sauces.

We suspect we were given extra vegetables due to having a vegetarian at the table, with thoughtful swaps like garlic and rosemary roasted potatoes instead of the usual duck fat ones, and cabbage without bacon. The pork belly also came with a side of wonderfully sticky, crispy crackling which scored extra points!
Highlights from the sides included beautifully honey roasted carrots, fresh garden peas and a rich, delicious veal jus. Overall, it was a really strong roast and one I would happily order again.
By the time plates were cleared, we were completely full, so we skipped dessert and finished with drinks instead. The mocha was excellent, and it is worth noting that Cosy Club has a great range of sober sips and cocktails. There was also a fun Bloody Mary cart making the rounds for those wanting something a little stronger.

What really tied the whole experience together was the service. The staff were very friendly and attentive, which made the visit feel relaxed and enjoyable from start to finish.
Cosy Club Oxford is a place I would happily return to, whether for another roast or just a drink at the bar.
