Blush St. Bakery is run by four lovely sisters who are based in West Oxfordshire.
They bake an array of decadent treats that, let’s face it, we’re all in need of every now and then (or every day with how good these ones were!)
Their assorted cookie box consisted of milk chocolate, white chocolate, 100% cocoa, and red velvet cookies. These cookies were beautifully thick. My favourite being the white chocolate cookie- it was love at first bite. The big white chocolate chunks stuffed into the cookie added a whole extra level to the cookie. There was no scrimping on the choc with these bad boys!

The 100% cocoa cookie wasn’t what I was expecting, but in a good way! It would be my recommended cookie for anyone who doesn’t love overly sweet treats. I must add that they package it all so nicely, these cookies would make a lovely gift for someone. 10/10 for presentation!

Getting to know the Blush Street bakers…
How did you make the decision to set up the bakery? Give us a little backstory to the beginning of Blush Street Bakery!
Baking has always been part of our lives, for every occasion whether big or small, there is always a good reason to bake. Inspired by our family, from our Mum to our Nan, both of their incredible baking skills motivated us to continue the tradition that we wanted to embed in our daily lives. Originally the idea was born a few years ago during COVID times, when two of us started the company, and after a short break, we decided to come back in full force with all four of us sisters being involved and on a mission to take the bakery to the next level.
What’s your favourite thing to bake and why?
Oh, it has to be the cookies – the way that gooey chocolate smells and melts as it comes out of the oven never gets old.
If you could collaborate with any famous baker or chef, who would it be and why?
Nadiya Hussain from Bake Off. I love how she combines flavours and makes simple food that tastes great.

A lot of people would struggle to work with their family or people they’re close to, what’s your secret to success?
Growing up as four sisters, we’ve always been in each other’s pockets and lives, and spending time together as a large family is the norm for us. So when it came to creating a business together, we all jumped at the chance at being able to do so. Plus with there being four of us, we all bring something different to the business while still being able to give our opinions, and be totally honest (even argue), whilst still being close and having the availability to move on quickly to the next thing from knowing each other so well.

What advice would you give to someone who is looking to start their own bakery or food business?
Passion. The obvious answer perhaps, but above all you have to have the passion and love for what you bake or cook. That is what keeps you going when you have to work endless unsociable hours, or when things aren’t going to plan.
What’s coming up for the bakery? Any exciting new additions that our readers should expect?
We love this time of year as a new year brings excitement for new ideas and plans and we’re currently working on some very exciting new additions. Think limited seasonal editions and perhaps something with a little bit of sparkle…

Hannah
Working alongside Leila, I love being able to have a creative outlet through baking, it’s something that I truly enjoy, and love seeing the joy each bake brings to others. I’m most likely the homebody out of the four of us and love nothing more than quiet family days, good milky cups of tea.. and of course, a cookie on the side.
Leila
Baking has always been my passion and something that I love to do in both my spare time and together with my family, so being able to create a business out of it with my sisters has been fantastic. My other love has to be my family, my adorable cockapoo Lola, and a cosy day off at home in my pjs!
Natasha
The youngest of us, Natasha is a super talent experienced photographer who takes all our beautiful imagery. When not behind her camera, you’re likely to find her on a wild woodland adventure with her enthusiastic Dalmatian Dotty, exploring new destinations when possible or closer to home rummaging around charity shops for interior bargains to dress her beautiful little cottage.
