Routes Coffee

Routes is excited to be opening its roasting headquarters in Cowley to the public this April!
Ten years ago, business owners Will Penfold and Jim Benwell founded Routes Coffee with the goal of building a community around coffee. Their venture has taken them around the world supplying coffee for events across continental Europe, Greenland, and closer to home in the UK.
More recently, Routes has looked to establish themselves local…well… roots. In 2021, they opened their flagship cafe, Green Routes, on Oxford’s Magdalen Road. The cafe has quickly become an Oxford favourite for plant-based brunch and great coffee, as well as its rotating calendar of events, from block-printing nights to life drawings, and even the occasional concert.
After years of producing coffee behind the scenes of its flagship and other cafes across the UK, Routes warehouse is opening to the public. All are invited to hang out in its community space, taste the most recent roasts, and bring home a bag of their favourite beans. Aside from incredible coffee, those who drop by can also expect delicious bakes from local baker KB.eats, as well as a lively events calendar that will include regular cuppings and live music.

Summertown Wine Bar is a gorgeous, spacious Wine Bar in the heart of Summertown, situated on Banbury Road. Owned by wine lovers Emily Robotham, Graeme Woodward and Michael Jelley (also owners of independent wine merchants Grape Minds), the trio wanted to create the perfect venue to stop off for a drink after work, pre or post-dinner and a venue that can host a good party. As a result, Summertown Wine Bar has over 120 covers with space to section off different areas of the bar for private parties, as well as a private dining room where they host their legendary wine tastings.
The wine list boasts over 30 wines available by the glass, an extensive wine list of over 300 bottles, ranging from £20-£500 but also has great craft beers, cocktails and some delicious bar snacks, cheese and charcuterie boards. Their signature menu item is Tarte Flambée, an Alsatian Flatbread topped with Fromage Blanc, Melted Cheese and a variety of delicious toppings.
With a stage for live music, the wine bar is quickly becoming the go-to venue on Sunday evenings for superb Jazz and often hosts other live music during the week, weekly wine tastings, themed weekends and much more. Book a table.

Worton Kitchen Garden

Whether visiting for lunch or dinner, chef and owner Simon Spence has curated an Easter feast for all to enjoy.
Begin with Worton pickles made using last season’s vegetables and homemade vinegar atop Simon’s baked rye bread, or Worton’s homemade paté made from the pedigree middlewhite pigs on the farm. Looking to larger dishes, feast on wood roast lamb with dauphinoise potatoes and catalogna or wood roasted plaice with Charlotte potatoes and seasonal greens.
To round off, choose from puddings including quetsche plum sorbet; rhubarb and ginger pavlova; bounty or simnel cake before heading out for a post-dinner walk around the farm, which will play host to this year’s Easter egg hunt for the kiddies. On Saturday evening, the Oxley – Meier Guitar Project will play live jazz into the night, making the perfect backdrop to supper.

Simon says, “Easter is the turning point of the season, the chicks are born, the flowers begin to bloom and there’s plenty of buzz happening across our farm. We’re thrilled to welcome guests to come and see the farm in full swing and enjoy an Easter feast“.
