We cannot believe how much good weather we’re being blessed with lately, and as Oxford really does shine in the sun, we thought we’d share where we’ve been hanging out in the outdoor heat in case you’re looking for some inspo!

Faith – The Victoria, Jericho
The shade of the back garden offered us the perfect relief from the heat – plus we nabbed the prime spot under their beautiful canopy of foliage 🍃 A little oasis!
There is also the option of the uncovered terrace at the front of the pub (it comes with the added bonus of people-watching, but the sun was far too strong for us).
The whole place had great vibes on the weekday evening we were there – a nice buzz, but still very chilled.
Holly – The Aviary Bar, Woodstock
Picture this: a Tuscan-style terrace hidden away in the heart of Woodstock… Welcome to the new Aviary Bar at The Feathers Hotel.✨
Think golden hour cocktails, dreamy vibes without the pretence, and bar snacks worth planning your week around. Whether you’re out to impress, dress up, or just escape the everyday – this spot delivers. Oxford’s best kept secret? Not for long. 🌿

Jacqui – The Store Rooftop, Central Oxford
Jacqui enjoyed drinks and a gluten free charcuterie board on the roof terrace of the Store in the sunshine, which felt like a holiday at home! Pair that with a spritz and I’m sold. The gluten free brioche was decent too, which can be hard to find!
Jemma – Centerparcs, Elveden
Jemma was actually out of Oxford for a little trip to the Elveden Centerpars with her family, where she enjoyed a fruity mocktail while sat by the playpark.

Chiara – Sycamore Smyth Field to Ferment course
I booked a spot on Clare’s course after one of our writers reviewed it, and what a gorgeous day it was!
Clare took us through all the motions for making our very own krauts, kimchi, pickles, and lots more. We stopped for a beautiful lunch prepared by Home Farm House’s (where the course takes place) owner Anita Cook, and went home with lots of fermented treats to keep us busy.
Having a day away from phones and screens (other than taking a few pics – who can blame me, the location was stunning) to dive right into something new and wholesome, was a real treat. Clare is brilliant and I highly recommend.

James – The Rusty Bike
James enjoyed one of the Dodo classic burgers on a chilled Sunday afternoon – you just can’t go wrong!
