So this isn’t fresh news for some, but I’ve been trying to get this published since before Christmas! 😩 Taste Tibet has been a regular street food trader at Gloucester Green and on the festivals circuit for some time; their comforting Tibetan curries and handmade momos offering a comforting hug (and kick of heat). At the end of last year, however, they opened an actual venue; packing their bright, beautiful tent away for at least a little while.
The venue in question was a shop on the corner of Magdalen Road and Catherine Street – in the fine foodie company of Oli’s Thai, The Rusty Bicycle, Magdalen Arms, Missing Bean, plus newly opened Green Routes Cafe – right next door to Magic Cafe.
🕵️♀️ I snuck in before they fully opened to grab some pics of the new restaurant/takeaway for you…
The venue was designed to be canteen-style, with long shared tables, but is operating as purely takeaway for the time-being.
Ordering from Taste Tibet:
Takeaways – You can order curries, momos and sides, plus family-size portions, for hot takeaways every Friday & Saturday evening. Pre-order by phone on 01865499318 between 5-8.30pm Friday and Saturday, or just turn up.
Deliveries – Alternatively, you can order cold deliveries to pop in the freezer or reheat at home (storage and heating instructions are on their website). They deliver on Thursdays, with orders placed from their online shop from Mondays at 10am.
And if you haven’t tried their food yet, here’s one I ate earlier…

Yep, already a fan!
They were one of the first to offer deliveries in the first lockdown, so we ordered a feast for my birthday (which was fairly early in the lockdown), and it was glorious! 🙂

That’s exactly when those food pics were from! So good. Great to have another foodie venue on Magdalen Road, too.
