I have somehow (and rightfully) become the designated sweet treat/dessert expert among the Bitten crew, so it only felt right to start a series where I take you through some of the yummy things I eat.
I discovered Monkey Puzzle towards the end of last year after a friend recommended it, and have made several trips back since. It’s a bit of a hidden gem on the Thame high street, if you ask me.
I love seeing the selection of bakes they have on display, and I do my best to try something new each time I go because they all look so good.
Brownies and coffee- the perfect Saturday sweet treat

Caramel Cornflake Brownie and a Mocha
The glow of the sunshine on the cornflakes was so aesthetically pleasing.
I will start by saying that this was a generous slice and worth every bite.
The caramel was mixed into the cornflakes, which helped avoid the top layer becoming too hard and difficult to eat. Instead, it was crispy yet gooey on the top layer, and then the bottom layer of the brownie was moist and chocolatey to balance out the sweetness of the caramel.
So delicious and the perfect sweet treat!

Salted Caramel Brownie with an Iced Butterscotch Latte
My friend went for the salted caramel brownie, which I tried previously when I visited for their afternoon tea.
Again, this was delicious. The caramel itself is so good, and there is just the right amount of it in the brownie. Adding the salt flakes adds that extra layer of flavour to balance to sugar.
As always, a successful sweet treat run to Monkey Puzzle.
The coffee here is really good, and you can’t go wrong with an iced latte and a mocha.

I did say you would watch me here again on a sunny day, and as you can see, I did just that!
If you have not visited Monkey Puzzle yet, this is your sign to do so. Their baked goods hit the spot, and the staff are always very welcoming, which always makes a difference. It’s a great spot for a catch-up: cosy and rustic.
See you next time when I go on another sweet treat adventure!
