As of tomorrow, Westgate Oxford will have one extra edition, with Rola Wala launching in the Westgate Social food court.
Rola Wala, meaning “man that rolls” in Hindi, was inspired by founder Mark Wright’s multiple travels in India. The street food start-up is “bringing new-wave Indian cuisine to regions across the UK, with a focus on the country’s fresh and punchy flavours and high-quality, healthy ingredients”.
As far as the menu goes, it’s a simple design your own concept. First, pick a base – a mixed grain bowl of pearl barley, brown rice and lentils, a sourdough naan roll, or cauliflower rice with kale. Next, choose a filling – marinated chicken, beef brisket, lamb shoulder, vegan red dal, black chickpeas with sweet potato, or saagwala for the spinach lovers, all spiked with wonderful Indian spices. After that, you add your choice of dressings, sides and drinks.
We’ll be checking it out soon, but let us know what you think if you get there first.
