Rumour has reached us that Ricardo’s, the much loved sandwich and salad bar in the Covered Market has closed. Famous for their hot roasted baguettes with that extra bit of pork crackling nestling at the bottom of the bag and their huge selection of fillings. Now that Olives is also under new ownership, I suspect I may be shopping around for my lunch now.

Luckily though, Ricardo’s is being replaced with A Taste of China, selling traditional Chinese street food such as dumplings, noodles and Chinese burgers. We’re looking forward to trying them out and seeing if they’re as good as our favourites at Gloucester Green, Gyoza and Buns and Sasha’s Dumplings – expect a review soon!
