An originally denied rumour is now official, Oxfork is to return to the hands of one of its original owners, Drew Brammer.
In a statement released on their Facebook page today, the current owners of Oxfork said:
***IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT***
As of Saturday 21st May, Oxfork will be under new management. We will be open as normal this weekend, closed from Sunday evening.
We’d like to say a big thank you to you, our customers who love Oxfork as much as we do. Whether you’re here come rain or shine, whether you have a favourite seat or have only visited once, have written a novel in our basement, or have been too hungover to remember much (apart from our food, drink, friendly staff, fork chandelier, great artwork…), we really appreciate your support over the past two years (and of course beforehand, with Drew, Chloe, Jess and Becky at the helm).
It’s a bit of a change, but we’re really excited that Oxfork is going full circle, and Drew, who started Oxfork back in the day (2011?) is retaking the reins of our lovely little Magdalen Road cafe. We took on Oxfork while Chloe and Jess, who started Oxfork with Drew, were starting families, and we’re happy to have been able to continue serving, making, pouring, eating and drinking great food and drink in their absence.
In the past year we’ve trialled a small plates evening menu, exhibited some fantastic artwork, hosted some great Christmas parties, and of course made lots of tasty tasty food and drink.
We hope to make the transition as smooth as possible, and will be working closely with Drew so he can retake the reins.
Now, we’ll hand over to Drew, and thank you, again, for your support over the past two years, it means a lot to us.
The Oxfork team x
Bitten sends its best wishes to the outgoing team and looks forward to seeing what changes Drew has in store.
