Teardrop Bar

Teardrop is a micropub in the heart of Oxford Covered Market. Set up last year by Church Hanbrewery, the bar sells beers, plus other local drinks and snacks. The micro-bar has up to 13 beers, 8 on keg and 5 on cask. Beers change all the time and although they have a core range, they’re always brewing new beers specially for the bar. It is the first time people are allowed to have a drink in the market. You can also take away bottles and growlers or refill your own containers. They love local and small and support many independent businesses in their little bar, that they call “Barzinho”

The Market Cellar Door

A small wine shop and bar next to Teardrop, set up by local wine merchants ‘Eynsham Cellars’ and Teardrop. They sell a range of around 250 wines, carefully chosen from around the world; there is also a focus on small producers and minimal intervention wines. The shop sells 6 wines ‘on tap’ from which you can refill your own bottle to take away; for a small corkage charge, any of the bottles are also available to drink in.

These bars are next to each other and encourage you to bring food from around the market to enjoy with a glass. There is a fantastic fishmonger next door whose oysters and seafood platters have proved very popular so far.
