Whatever your tier, there will always be beer…
In light of the craziness of COVID-19, the various tiers and now Lockdown Mk3, one thing is for sure – we need a beer. As pub doors are sadly still closed, we wanted to pull together some info on breweries that are still providing beer deliveries in Oxford and surrounding areas, so you can still get your beery fix.
Below is a list with links to keep the beer flowing at home. This features delivery only options, although many breweries are also offering collection services.
Oxford Beer Deliveries: The Breweries…
The team at Chadlington Brewery continue to provide delivery via their well-stocked webshop with a great selection of bottled beers and the odd mini keg. They also provide a mixed case as well, if you can’t decide.
Teardrop / Church Hanbrewry offer home deliveries that will be direct from the brewery. In addition, you can also order bottled beer to be delivered by Bonners in Oxford Covered Market with your veg order, which is really handy.
Hooky provide a £5 delivery service for a wide range of local postcodes and a courier service if you are outside this radius. As always, they have a great selection on offer in bottles as well as polypins. I think I spotted a garlic beer as well…..interesting.
Little Ox have an online shop where you can buy beer in 500ml glass bottles or a handy 2 litre plastic bottle – if you are in for a more boozy session. They offer free local delivery to customers within most of Oxfordshire (please check their website to see if they deliver to your postcode) and provide a free courier service for nationwide orders over £60. They have a good core range of beers, including Oxford Beer Festival winning Yabba Dabba Doo, as well as an exciting list of new beers that we will be released every month of 2021.
Loose Cannon is offering free local delivery within a certain radius of the brewery and national delivery at a small fee. This includes a great range of bottled cases, polypins, and a 72-pint firkin if you want to get really boozy. Don’t forget that in addition to their core brews, Loose Cannon brew a different special beer each month. This year they have gone with film title puns for these beers. January is ‘Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Pint’. A full review of some of their beers is coming soon.
If you are missing a pint in The Bear, then an order of Prospect is what you need. The Shotover Brewery online shop is open for bottles, polypins and mini-kegs with free delivery inside the ring road (and some places outside).
Tap are fully stocked up with cans of their 5 core beers on their webshop. They offer free delivery within a 10km radius of orders over £25, and free national delivery with orders over £60.
They have a new webshop, that went live towards the end of 2020, so ordering bottles of beer, gin and mead is easy. They offer free delivery to those in a 15-mile radius of the brewery, with a small fee for those outside of that, in addition, they have some Titanic beers available.
XT continue their delivery service to OX and HP postcodes, offering great a selection of beer from the XT and Animal range. I’m partial to a case of Hop Kitty.
We also wanted to mention the Rose & Crown who are offer free local home delivery on a selection of keg and cask ales that are delivered on a Friday. Check out their social media or website for details of the weekly beers and food available. Orders are placed over text or WhatsApp.
All these services will be subject to government regulations and any changes that may occur over the lockdown period. Stay safe and keep supporting local – James & the Bitten Crew
