When we book a hotel, food often plays a big part in the decision (no surprises there). So we thought it was about time we shared our top foodie hotels in Oxford. If you’re planning a getaway and want to make sure it’s a gastronomic success, look no further.
Here are our favourite spots for a sleepover. Disclaimer: we’ve reviewed the food in most of these places, but only stayed overnight at a few, so we can’t promise pillow quality but based on food and service, you should be in for a royal treat.
Want to be in the thick of the city?
Malmaison, Central Oxford
Why we love it: Eating in a converted prison feels deliciously decadent. We’ve been several times and love the vibe, the food, and the service. Plus, it’s super central for exploring Oxford.
The Store, Central Oxford
Why we love it: In our opinion, one of Oxford’s best new additions. Rooftop cocktails, BBQ platters, a spa, and a killer roast, plus interiors that make you want to move in.
Randolph, Central Oxford
Why we love it: The Graduate Hotel team have nailed it. We’ve visited a few times (including a full sleepover – read about it here). Afternoon tea is a highlight.
Fancy being closer to the Cotswolds but within easy reach of Oxford?
The Bull, Charlbury
Why we love it: Recently crowned UK National Pub & Bar of the Year 2025 and holding a Bib Gourmand, this place is a treat. It’s spendy, but as we said in our review it’s pretty “breathtaking.”
The Harcourt Arms, Stanton Harcourt
Why we love it: A 10-bedroom pub in a charming village, with consistently delicious food and a warm, dog-friendly vibe. We’ve never had a bad meal here.
Go big or go home
The Feathers, Woodstock
Why we love it: Fine dining at its best. A gorgeous summer terrace, exceptional cocktails, and a beautiful Woodstock setting.
Double Red Duke, Bampton
Breakfast here is incredible (and open to non-residents). Add in a quirky Shepherd’s Hut massage room and unique interiors, and you’ve got a special stay. We’ve not yet tried dinner, but reviews are glowing. Bonus: Blake’s is less than a five-minute walk away.
Bat & Ball, Cuddesdon
Gorgeous food, dog friendly, and a beautiful room mere steps away from the restaurant – heaven is being able to roll straight into bed post food-coma without any transport worries. Just make sure you keep some room for brekkie the next day. Read our review of dinner and a stay, here.
The Old Crown Coaching Inn, Faringdon
If you fancy an escape from central Oxford but don’t want to venture too far, this is a fab option. A beautifully rustic spot with traditional rooms, and a drool-worthy menu, right in the heart of a lovely m16th century market town. Extra points for being dog friendly. Read our review of a night spent there for more details.
On a budget but still want style?
Mollie’s Motel, Faringdon
Why we love it: Soho House interiors without the Soho House price tag. Great food, fun vibes, and perfect for a mates’ getaway. Check out Chiara’s recent stay here.
From budget-friendly bites to blow-the-budget feasts, these hotels prove you don’t have to choose between great food and a great stay. Have a favourite foodie hotel in Oxfordshire we’ve missed? Tell us in the comments or tag us on Instagram – we’re always hungry for new discoveries and a sleepover.
