I have to confess that I’m not a fan of Valentine’s Day – I’d rather tell those I love that I love them every day without it being a Hallmark moment. But just occasionally it’s good to go with the crowd and have a full on, romantic experience and it’s even better if that experience includes food!
There are some cracking menus available for February 14th this year and we’ve rounded up some of our favourites to make it easier for you to spoil your special someone. So, have a read of our recommendations, book ASAP and feel smug in the knowledge that you won’t be relying on dodgy carnations and cuddly toys from your local garage this year!

Cuttlefish
To celebrate Valentine’s Day, Cuttlefish have prepared a menu to delight. On arrival, begin with a champagne cocktail or order a bottle of bubbles for the evening. Then for starters, select from warm lobster salad, chickpea fritters, or mussels and clams with garlic toast. Or add even more romance with a seafood platter for two, or shared starter of oysters two ways: half served on crushed ice with shallot vinegar and the other oysters baked “gratin” with soya sauce, spring onions and sweet chilli. For main, select from seared fillet of seabass, grilled aged Angus fillet of beef from Alden’s, or leek and oyster mushroom risotto. End your meal with a dessert plate to share, featuring 4 of their favourites: Italian coffee flavoured ice cream tartufo with hazelnuts; rich cream filled profiterole and chocolate sauce; sticky toffee pudding and caramel sauce; and lemon posset shot. Their main menu remains available if you’d prefer to stick with the classics.
