Today marks the start of Oxford Festival of the Arts 2016.
Now in its eighth year, the Festival runs until Saturday 2nd July and offers a broad programme of performances, workshops and talks across the fields of music, theatre, art, film and literature.
The programme includes some wonderful sounding pieces, including Furious Folly, a performance that “takes place as night falls, in a no-man’s land on the battle front between the two lines, immersing the audience within an open-air collage of sound, light, pyrotechnics and performance.”
But you know us at Bitten, we’re all about the food. And food the Festival has plenty of.
On Saturday 25th June, Culinary Arts is in focus, with talks and demonstrations from the likes of Xanthe Clay, Aldo Zilli and Great British Bake Off Winner, Frances Quinn. There will be tastings with The Oxford Artisan Distillery, Shotover Brewery and Oxford Chelt Wine School, workshops with food photographers and children’s cookery schools, five separate chocolate workshops plus a bunch of food stalls and food trucks to fill those tummies.
We’re in for quite a treat over the course of the next two weeks, with plenty of things to see, do and taste. Becca’s off to watch Furious Folly tonight (jealous) and you’re sure to find at least one of us checking out all the fabulous food attractions next Saturday!
